The example below is from our files and represents a typical aircraft sourcing engagement.
Mission: Engaged by Asian corporation for assistance with sourcing the client's first corporate executive aircraft.
Solutions:
1. The process began with a detailed examination of the clients true requirements:
1. Where will the aircraft primarily operate?
2. Estimated number of passengers?
3. Capital budget for the initial acquisition?
4. Annual operating budget?
5. Existing flight crew and maintenance?
2. We then presented the client with side by side comparisons of aircraft meeting the range, size and budget requirements along with our recommendations.
The presentations included custom developed Power points and other media.
3. Once an aircraft type was selected the market research began.
A second round of aircraft presentations then took place. We presented the client with side by side comparisons of all of the specific model aircraft currently on the market.
The presentations included custom developed Power points and other media.
We discovered all available aircraft in the USA meeting the client's criteria were over priced by an average of $2,000,000.
The USA based aircraft brokers were apparently taking advantage of the very high demand for this particular model by inflating prices by over 30%.
Our top recommendation was an unadvertised aircraft we sourced from Europe, with far less Total Time, for over $2,000,000 less than those offered in the USA.
This resulted in a direct savings to the client of over $2,000,000 US Dollars.
4. We inspected the aircraft and performed a comprehensive audit of all aircraft records.
5. The aircraft was now ready to be presented to the client. Working with the dealer and owner we scheduled and met our client at the aircraft.
The client made the decision to move forward and we preceded to the "Purchase Offer" phase.
6. Working with the client's attorney and the seller of the aircraft, we assisted with the language and terms of the initial offer. After receiving the client's approval we presented the offer to the seller.
7. The offer was accepted and we then continued the process of advising the client's attorney with developing the formal purchase agreement and terms. This process included:
1. Title & Escrow company selection
2. PrePurchase Inspection terms and and scheduling
3. Comprehensive review of State taxes and selection of closing location
8. We presented the formal offer to the seller. It was accepted and we moved on to the next phase of the transaction. As this was the client's first corporate aircraft, we provided:
1. Pilot qualifications and other selection criteria
2. Maintenance qualifications and other selection criteria
3. Aircraft and Engine warranty programs guidance, planning and consultations
4. Detailed Flight Department setup instructions and guidance
5. Sourced aircraft insurance policies and rates
6. FAA and International Registry query's and filings
7. Coordinated Pilot and Mechanic "Type" training
8. Provided client with detailed instructions for TSA and other requirements related to pilot training in the USA
9. Developed and wrote "Maintenance Plan"
10. Detailed operating budget
11. Comprehensive regulatory guidance
12. Escorted and assisted client's pilots while attending training in the USA
13. Coordinated ferry flights, flight permits and various delivery issues
14. Extensive involvement with initial Certificate of Airworthiness, Registration and other export/import concerns.
Our fee for all of the above services was only a small retainer and fee of less than 1% of the final transaction price. The end result was a $2,000,000 net savings and a quality, airworthy aircraft cleared to began operations.
